Tool that solves an issue trying to organise competitive ARAM tournaments at my university
About
During my time in university I started the League of DAE Legends club. The aim was to bring people together and show that this community has a wholesome side.
When organising an ARAM tournament (All Random All Mid) we did not like that the random picking was different to how ARAM usually is played. To solve this, we made an open source tool similar as we were taught in the course tool development. It uses the Riot API for the list of champions for that version and it generates a random pool of champions for each team in the bracket. That gets formatted and sent to a Discord webhook.
We also had the foresight of allowing people to implement their own ways of supplying teams, in case they have it in JSON format for example (we use CSV). We also embed a list of champions of a specific version to fall back to.
This was a very fun and satisfying project to work in, although it probably did not save us much time as we hoped, it allowed others to use it for their own custom matches.
